Ikbenpionier.be is the official participant platform of SGS Clinical Pharmacology Unit (SGS CPU), a recognized Belgian clinical research center with more than 40 years of experience in Phase 1 and early clinical studies. SGS CPU conducts clinical studies on behalf of pharmaceutical and biotech companies, in accordance with strictly regulated and approved protocols.

The accommodations, excellent leisure facilities and spacious terrace, combined with the friendly and professional nursing staff, are a major advantage. That's one of the main reasons I keep coming back.

Taking part in clinical research is a way for me to get away and take a break from my busy work and family life. The payment is also a welcome bonus. The facility has all mod cons and the friendliness of the staff is second to none.

The staff is very friendly and the single rooms are superb. The rooms are kept nice and cool to sleep in, though possibly slightly too cold to work under the ventilation. The portion sizes of the food could be slightly larger as well. But my participation means that I am helping the development of future medicines and the extra money is great!

I think that I've been taking part in clinical research at SGS CPU for almost 10 years now and I'm happy that so much progress has been made over that period. The modern accommodation is the most recent highlight. Over all of this time, I have noticed how important volunteers are. I'm contributing to society and that feels good. That feeling certainly outweighs some of the disparaging comments I sometimes get from other people about clinical studies.

I took part in my first clinical study in support of a friend who had breast cancer. I discovered that helping advance science in this way is very valuable – as is the generous remuneration. It also allows me to stay on top of my personal health. I always like coming back: there is time to relax and to catch up on some sleep. And otherwise: more studies for the over-55s please!

I hope that taking part in clinical research to investigate new medicines allows me to contribute to science so that some diseases that cannot be treated at the moment can be treated in the future. And the payment is of course an attractive additional incentive. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the speed in reception sometimes leaves something to be desired. See you soon!
